Ear Trainer Home

About the Project

Hi, I’m Lyre Zhukov.

I’m a 17-year-old musician, and like most people serious about their craft, I knew I needed to work on my ear training. The problem? Every website I found was either hidden behind a massive paywall, looked like it hadn't been updated since 2005, or was just plain frustrating to use.

I got tired of waiting for a better tool to show up, so I decided to build one myself.

By a Musician, For Musicians

I originally built this site as a personal tool to help me sharpen my own hearing. But as the project grew, I realized I probably wasn't the only person looking for a clean, effective, and modern way to practice.

The exercises use browser synthesis instead of recorded samples, which keeps the tool fast and consistent. The goal is simple: give musicians a quiet place to repeat the sounds that matter until they become familiar.

01
Focused practice
Choose only the intervals, chords, or scales you want to study instead of being thrown into every possible answer at once.
02
Progress that stays
Practice as a guest with local progress, or create an optional account to sync scores and settings across devices.

Why is it free?

Because learning music is hard enough as it is. You shouldn't have to deal with user interfaces that feel outdated or subscription fees just to train your ears.

I’m publishing this for absolutely free because I want us all to get better at what we do. No catches, no gatekeeping — just a straightforward tool to help you hear music more clearly.

Enjoy the training, and let's make something great.
